Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

How I can lower my footprint(and you should too)

ennwhitby

My carbon footprint is 31,000 kgs, which is very high, and it is mainly from transportation. I decided to take action and here is how I can lower my carbon footprint. One of the ways I can lower my footprint is when we need to get a new car, we can get an electric car, because our car isn’t very fuel efficient. I can also eat less meat, because my second highest was food. I can avoid eating as much beef, because cows fart methane which is a greenhouse gas that is even more powerful than carbon dioxide, and humans can have beef replacers, such as elk, deer, and bison, while scientists find a way to capture the methane that cows produce.
