Unplugging
Normally when you charge your laptop or phone you unplug your device, but not the cord from the outlet. If you try everyday to unplug your charger from the wall, you can easily lower your carbon footprint. This is because every time you use the power, you are drawing electricity from the nearest power plant, which is powered by coal, oil, or other natural gases. By burning these fuels, a lot of carbon dioxide is released in the air.
I totally agree with you. Not only leaving the plug in the outlet will waste fuel and energy, but also add money onto your electricity bills.
