Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Changing Everyday Habits

johnsonbrooke19

I know it is hard just to get up one day and change your routine. In fact, it is very difficult. For example, if the only way you could get to work was by a car, then it is kind of hard to decide you are going to ride a bike. The key is to work around your routine. Change things that are easy to change and then work up from that point. It is an entire process and it can not be done in a short period of time. It sometimes take years, but if everyone tries to change, we could help lessen the amount of carbon dioxide and other green house gases in the air.
Watch the amount of water you use, don't waste, etc. Sometimes I think  people think changing your whole entire lifestyle is easy. It really isn't, it is hard, and that is why you have to take yourself through a process that works for you.

Very good point.  I totally agree with you.

I agree! As long as we try it won't matter how slow our process is!
