Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Local Community Gardens

MaliC

There should be community gardens for every neighborhood. Personal gardens take too much water and soil. Community gardens would allow everyone easy access to fruits and vegetables. Paying would be helping around the garden and planting. The energy and water waste of keeping hundreds of personal gardens would all be used in one giant community garden. Also, the community/neighborhood would all connect together more. It would bring people together. For more information, visit http://www.gardeningmatters.org/sites/d … s_2012.pdf

i agree with this. Our class watched a Ted talk that utilized this concept and it worked very well. Along with saving water, it would help other people who may not be able to afford their own food. There are many possibilities with community gardens.
