Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

The Ocean is a CO2 sink

hansonj19

The ocean is one of the largest CO2 consumer on Earth. It is also referred to as the "CO2 Sink", because it takes in roughly about 370 ppm (parts per million). The average of ppm in carbon dioxide was 280 ppm, and now it is at a startling 370 which is a big change. This change happened in the timespan of 150 years. What do you think will happen next? Will the numbers increase or decrease? Will there be  change in the world's temperature?
