Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Necessities vs. Desires

Zaelanewcomb

There's a big difference in necessities in life and what people desire. Some think that traveling a long distance in an automobile only to go to a mall that's hours away is something they must have in life. The truth people don't realize is that whatever unnecessary transportation we do is increasing the CO2 in the atmosphere more and more which is causing our plant to warm. We as human begins should learn to focus on the absolute necessities we need in life rather than what we want. In doing this, we could see a decrease in the harmful emissions in the atmosphere and also in our personal carbon footprints.
