Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Footprint

8370008

Hello, My name is Alan I am from the Iredell county in Mooresville, NC. I am 15 years old. In my carbon footprint I make a total of 13,511 kgs of carbon dioxide per year. Comparing to North Carolina's average which is a total of 15,918 kgs per year of carbon dioxide I was able to produce about 2,407 kgs less carbon than North Carolina in average. The majority of my carbon footprint came from my home which was a total of 10,955 kgs of carbon dioxide this was a surprise to me due to the fact that at home I try to do my best to use things in the most sufficient way that I can. In the future I plan on controlling in a more stern way on how I use power (electricity)  and other tools such as temperature, and water in the house.
