Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Kevin Diaz Carbon Footprint

kevvinndiaazz

My name is Kevin Diaz , I am from Mooresville, NC. I am 14 years old attending Mooresville High school. My total footprint is 22,524 kgs . It is way above average, about 7,000 difference. The majority of my carbon footprint comes from transportation. I really wasn't surprised because for football, we travel a lot, different counties and states so of course a lot of fossil fuel is burned. I learned that I need to use an alternative way for transportation because if that decreased then my footprint will decrease. I can start walking instead of car pulling to school. I can also eat more organic food, it will make a difference in my carbon footprint because it was the second highest.
