Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Parker's Carbon Footprint (Mooresville, NC, USA)
My name is Parker and I live in Mooresville, North Carolina, USA. My total carbon footprint was 15,405 kgs. My carbon footprint is just about average for where I live. My transportation footprint (8,091 kgs) is about double that of the average person in my region. This does not surprise me because I am in the car frequently traveling to and from school, work, and home. My home footprint (4,713 kgs) was below average and that does not surprise me. My food category (2,376 kgs) was below average which is surprising, I thought I would be about average. And my purchases (255 kgs) were way below average which I expected, I tend to only buy things when necessary. All in all I now see an area in which I can improve, transportation. I don't think there is any realistic way for me to cut my number down, but if I rode with people places it would cut the overall usage for my region down.
