Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

my footprint
I wasn't supersized by my carbon footprint. I know I do a lot and go a lot of places through out the week. like go to parties or go get new clothes stuff like that. and I go to parties like every weekend. and every week when its summer.
Hey it's Lindsey! So in class we did the carbon footprint activity. I believe i can do a lot better on being more green. I always leave my charger plugged in the whole day even when im not using it. So this next month my goal is to unplug it in the morning. Most people leave there charger plugged in all day too. What do you guys think?
I never expected the things in my every day life to effect the world so greatly. One thing I realized is I can help the environment by simply turning the lights off when I leave a room or opening a window for natural light instead of using my bedroom lights. Anther thing I can do is to turn the water off when I'm brushing my teeth. These are little things everyone can do to help improve our countries carbon footprint.
Was your score above average or below? These are common mistakes of the average person, I am impressed with your wanting to fix these issues!
my name is Conner Alms I live in Mooresville North Carolina my carbon footprint is 15,062. My family needs to lower are carbon footprint by lowering house energy by turning stuff off when we leave the house and when no ones there lights and stuff are left plugged in we need to lower our carbon foot print by turning lights off and unplugging things while not in use.
Turning the water off while not using it can save a lot
your average was higher than mines but I think that if you keep reminding your family to turn the lights off and if not using a plug make sure to take it out the outlet
I also leave the water on when I brush my teeth and I feel like it could help greatly with the use of water. Another good thing that will help is running the dishwasher in your home, maybe was things by hand more often.
Your footprint is almost the same as our regions average foot print! I am surprised that transportation is not your highest like most peoples.
I think in order to lower the amount of carbon you put into the air you could use solar panels on your house.
I was surprised with the results.
How so? Was it more than you expected or was it less?
