Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My name is James and I am a 14 year old from Mooresville, North Carolina, USA and My Total Carbon Footprint was 7,566 and the majority of it was from transport which was kind of surprising in my opinion because I don't really go to much places but I learned that I take the bus a lot so it makes sense, My future actions would be to try not to waste water and try not to use transportation for to long.

I agree with you. I go a lot of places with friends or in general. I feel its just because we're teenagers

Transportation can eat up a lot of energy and put out CO2 but, at least you are taking public transport instead of individual which means your saving energy that way.

Transportation can eat up a lot of energy and put out CO2 but, at least you are taking public transport instead of individual which means your saving energy that way. The other people who ride the one bus with you also lower their own individual carbon footprints. The lower individual emissions helps bring down the median emission which great for our environment.  (Taylor M U.S.A)
