Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Megan's Carbon Footprint
My name is Megan and I am from Jacksonville, Florida. My total footprint is 21,513, which is a lot compared to the average of Florida. By category, transportation is the highest due to all of the traveling I do. In the past year, I went on numerous vacations and even overseas. I can reduce my carbon footprint by driving less. When necessary, I can ride my bike or walk as a healthier alternative. I was surprised to see how much electricity and water is wasted. In order to conserve more, I can unplug any gadgets when they are not in use, which is beneficial in preserving energy. Also, while doing dishes, showering, washing my hands, brushing my teeth, or washing my face, I can turn the water off when I am not using it. Overall, there are many little steps to do to preserve energy, electricity, and water. Moving forward, I am definitely more mindful of my carbon footprint.
