Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Rosa's Carbon Footprint

rosa__0610

Hello! My name's Rosa and I'm a Compassion Road Academy graduating senior from Denver, Colorado. My carbon footprint was  8,165 kgs of CO2 per year, compared to an average of 18,287 kgs for Colorado, the United States, and 3,791 kg worldwide. I'm a little under 10,000 less than what I should which was exactly what I expected since I KNOW i'm not the healthiest person. I will try my best from now on to keep in mind that all of my decisions effect our earth and we only have one so we really should take more care of it! Thank you for taking the time to read my small carbon footprint story.

Hello Rosa ,
I am currently a student at St. John's River State College in Florida. Your numbers are great in comparison to the average for Colorado. I have never been to Colorado but plan to one day, I have heard it is a great place to live.  You are correct about our decisions do have an impact on our earth. We all need to do this footprint activity , more people may be aware of what they could improve on. Thank you for sharing your post.
