My Carbon Footprint (North Carolina) Gabe_H
My name is Gabe. I am 16 and live in Mooresville, North Carolina, USA. When I did my carbon footprint, I expected my results to be relatively the same as the rest of the world. I was quite wrong. My footprint was a massive 24,725. That is very much above the average for the world and for North Carolina. I was really kind of surprised but after a bit of thought, I didn't think that I should have been surprised. I took around 15 different flights this year which made my transportation footprint huge. I did however, have very low footprints in all the other areas, so that helped to keep my footprint from getting any larger. When I graduate from High School and go to college, my footprint should decrease dramatically as I will take a lot less flights and will not drive as much as I plan to live on campus. For the time being though, I need to strive to keep my footprint as low as I can get it in order to help maintain the Earth's ecosystems.
15 flights over the course of a year and your footprint is *ONLY* 24,000? I'm impressed. Your family must be doing some serious things to prevent carbon footprint in other areas.
