Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Climate Change 1

ggaitan

The climate change is not only affecting places across the world, but it is also affecting us. Every day, hour, and minute we are living through these changes and even though we can’t see it, it could be life threatening, ending all life form as we know it. Human’s are the only thing we can blame as we are making it worse as time goes on. The earth is getting hotter because we are trapping heat from all the fossil fuels we use with cars, trains, and planes etc. In order to get this under control, us as humans need to pull it together and change our daily lives. Earth's weather is also being affected by these changes as we are getting stronger storms. The elements are connected to the climate and causing these weather changes.

Earth is changing, really fast and not particularly in any direction we want. As earth develops, us humans don’t realize what exactly we’re doing to our world, as we are putting poisonous toxins into our atmosphere and breathing them in daily. If we don’t change this soon, we could be setting our own death trap. Stopping this may be hard, but i t’s a necessity to live. We should all start with our cars, if we cut down on driving, and start walking a little more, we could cut down on our carbon footprint. Ways I could help would be carpooling to school, or walk downtown instead of my parents driving me everywhere. We need to solve this soon, or it might be our kids lives we are putting in danger.
