Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Flights and My Large Carbon Footprint
My carbon footprint was extremely large under the transportation section in my carbon footprint calculation, primarily due to the amount of long distance flights I took this past year. I went on flights to visit colleges, attend family reunions, and go on vacations. It is very unfortunate how much carbon flights produce, however, these trips are close to mandatory for me. I am very curious as to how I can reduce my footprint in a significant way, given that I need to take these flights no matter what. I realize that I can carpool, eat locally, eat less meat, etc. but I am wondering what change of habit would make the most difference. Any suggestions/ideas?
