Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Climate Change
The National Center for Science Education
Climate change is real and we’re changing the earth. In the past 150 years we have changed the earth so much. Climate change is affecting the weather and animals. Its making the earth polluted, harming the animals and air dirty for us to breathe. The more cars we drive the more polluted the air gets. The more plastic we use the dirtier the oceans get. The more water we waste the drier it gets.
California is in a drought which has changed the weather dramatically. When an area is in a drought it makes the weather hotter and harder to live for the people that live in that area. The poles are melting which is affecting the animals in that ecosystem. Carbon dioxide dissolves in water making water acidic and warmer; warm oceans have less oxygen. Warm, acidic waters are harmful to the ecosystem, destroying coral reefs. The more and more global warming happens the more the rate of wildlife goes down; putting animals at danger of going extinct.
We can help stop or slow down climate ch ange. Helping inform others about the harmful effects we have on the earth and climate change can help out alot. There are many ways to help some being; turning off lights when we leave a room, not letting water run we not in use, carpooling more often, walking places as much as possible, not littering.
The Literacy & Energy Awareness Network
The sun is a primary source of energy. Using solar panels will help lower climate change. The ocean, atmosphere, geologic, and biological process effect climate change. Using electricity releases greenhouse gases. Changing our ways might be hard but it'll be worth the effects.
Every one of our actions will have a reaction. Even the smallest thing we do will have an impact on the earth. Plastic is killing the jellyfish. Theres natural climate change which is normal, than there's also human made climate change which is ruining the earth. We all have to help to make the earth beautiful again.
