Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Causes
Climate change is a dangerous and an arising global problem. Global leaders have met in order to find a solution to it. Two things they might discuss are the solution and the cause.
The Earth is getting warmer because people are adding heat-trapping gases to the atmosphere, mainly by burning fossil fuels. These gases are called greenhouse gases. Warmer temperatures are causing other changes around the world, such as melting glaciers and stronger storms. These changes are happening because the Earth's air, water, and land are all linked to the climate. Some places will be flooded and others will be dried with numerous droughts. For example, the bay area in California is experiencing a horrible drought currently and the exact cause is unknown - but it most likely has to do with climate change. Unfortunately, other places around the world may be experiencing times like these but we cannot change the weather so what is the best we can do?
Turning off the faucets when brushing teeth, turning off lights when you are not in the room, biking or walking somewhere if it is short -distance are all little things we can do as of right now. Obviously, there is need for a bigger solution, but let’s take the small things into consideration as well.
