Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Forum: Is Global Warming Real?
Global warming is real and increasing at an unnatural rate. Since the late 80’s, average temperature rise was 1.4 degrees, EPA expects temp rise to be 2 to 11.5 degrees by the next century. 97% of climate scientists agree the temperature increase rate to be unnatural; according to Scripps Institution of Oceanography, on May 2013 Co2 levels reached 400 ppm, highest since 3-5 million years ago. If you look at the graph on Livescience.com the map shows the world at a dark blue state which ment that it was cold in the late 80’s, but in 2012 the whole world is nearly orange or yellow, except the Pacific Ocean which is a light blue. Deforestation is the second biggest cause of all the climate change; when a tree is cut, it realises its Co2 that was stored for photosynthesis, billions/tons of Co2/year is realised from this. Fuel combustion is the #1 Co2 emissioner, according to the EPA the US accounts for 32% of the world’s fuel combustion Co2. Montana’s Glacier Park is an example of the immediate effects of climate change; the park lost 125/150 of its glaciers in just 100 year s, and N. America reached a record high temperature of 110+ degrees in the history of recorded temperatures.
