Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Climate Change
Humans are one of the main causes of climate change because of the activities they do throughout the day. It started when the industrial revolution started because of the discovery of fossil fuels being used to power the machines being used for the work. They would use the fuels to power their transportation, construction, industries, and consumption. These fossil fuels generate about three quarters of the carbon dioxide emissions. Oil, coal, and natural gasses supply carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and nitrogen oxides which will change the way the chemical cycles in the atmosphere work.
The main producer of carbon is the electricity that is being used. Humans are the ones that cause this because they leave the lights on in some rooms that they aren’t even in. The electricity is generated from everything that we use now and it all comes from the thermal power plants. These plants run on coal which is another fossil fuel which produces even more carbon into our Earth. When they are put together it creates a vicious cycle of releasing large amounts of carbon into th e atmosphere and it's destroying our Earth. There are many types of ways to use electricity which is making huge amounts of greenhouse gasses. People just need to be careful about how they use that time and keep it to a minimum so that the climate change doesn’t get out of hand.
