Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

One of the main causes of my carbon footprint was my consumption of meat.  I eat meat with every meal of the day.  I think I am going to cut down to just one or two meals a day with meat in order to cut down my carbon footprint.

I believe this is a very good idea. You should start eating more vegetables not only for the environment but for your own health.

I agree with both of you and I will do the same as tr3vor. Because my dad owns a pig farm I usually eat a lot of meat in a day. I will try to eat more vegetables and less meat to decrease my carbon footprint.

I am from Guatemala and I consume meat everyday as well. I didn't know that the meat we ate contributed to increase so must our carbon footprint. Personally, the food footprint is the category that had most consumption and impact in my life. I am willing to reduce the amount of meat that I eat everyday and consume more green foods that are also more beneficial for my health.
