Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Biodegratable Six Pack Rings
I think this is so interesting!! A local brewery of beer is using its excess barley to make edible six pack soda rings! This makes it edible for marine life so that they don't choke and possibly die from it. And if the marine life doesn't eat it, it decomposes all on its own into compost for the better of the environment. Even if the rings don't end up in the ocean they will still decompose quickly in a dump, or wherever they end up. The rings are just as strong as the popular plastic rings which take much, much longer to decompose and choke and kill large numbers of marine life as you can read more about in the link below. So you don't have to sacrifice the strength and quality of the soda rings to help out the environment. This solution is so simple I'm shocked that no one has thought of it before now! I'm so excited to watch this genius product grow and change this problem for the better!

Wow! That is actually fantastic! All we need is a way to get this into the mainstream consumer media, and we will be able to greatly reduce the amount of soda-related trash that goes into our landfills! Thank you so much for finding this valuable data!
That's so cool! I'm surprised that no one did that sooner! When I think of water pollution, literally the first thing that comes to mind is those six-pack soda rings. This rally is a big problem and, as Margo G said, we need to get this into the mainstream media and we could potentially save millions of marine lives.
