Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Riding your bike or walking

evan_f

Do you have to drive everywhere you go? If there are stores you have to go to that are close to where you are, you dont have to use your car. You can walk or bike short distances instead driving.

I think you are right in some ways, but if you are not feeling well, or you just don't want to ride your bike or walk that could be the problem.  I think you should TRY and ride your bike and walk.

I agree with you Evan. I find biking to be a great outlet and is also another fast means to get to short distances, and even longer distances if you are up to the challenge. Not only would that be decreasing your Carbon Footprint but biking or walking etc. to your destinations will increase cardiovascular endurance and benefit your overall health.
