Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Lucia´s carbon footprint

luciarspain

My total footprint is 5915 kgs per year, comparated to an average of 6968 kgs in Spain.
I have lower results in transportation, food and purchases. It is because I used to walk at school instead of drive to school. I usually take the car 5 o 6 times at month. I also used to go shopping twice at month, just when I need it.
I have a higher result in my home footprint, that is because use to much electricity.
I think we need to reduce our carbon footprint, because for example, we are used to take too many times the car, and use the electricity innecesary instead of use the sunlight.
