Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

carbon footprint

demjac

I feel like we could make a difference in our lives by doing small things. My carbon footprint was pretty low and I thought it would be higher than usual. I fell like we could make a stand by doing small things like shut off our lights in our rooms after we leave them. Or eating less when we want to eat more. If you have incandescent lights in your house you might want to think about replacing them with fluorescent light because they are more eco friendly. I have a lot of incandescent light in my house so I should start to replace them so I can get a better carbon footprint. If you drive a gas or a diesel you might want to start driving a electric car because it is more efficient and eco friendly. we also burn our trash which is very bad and I should make a stand to stop what I am doing to hurt the earth and kill the ozone layer.
