Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Carbon footprints are a great way to let people know what they purchase, how much they, travel effect the world. My total transportation was 5,163 and I don't think that this was a huge score, it could be lower but I don't think that it is that big compared to my friends. My total home energy was 8,133 and that was very high. My friends score was a lot lower than mine so I really need to get that lower. I can do that by replacing my light bulbs with LED lights. My food was 3,561 and that was not that huge but I know I can get that lower. My purchases was only 306 and my friends got a lower score than me but I didn't think that mien was that big. I think people should really do this so they know the stuff they do daily does effect this world.
