Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Carbon Footprint (Mooresville,North Carolina, USA)

tayaw

My name is Taya. I am from Mooresville,North Carolina, USA. I am 15 years old. My carbon footprint is 17,382, which is above average. The majority of my carbon footprint comes from transportation because we travel a lot. I go back and forth to where i used to live a lot. I would have expected for that to be the most because we are barely at home and are always out. But I thought that home would be a lot more cause we have a lot of people and we always leave like lights, AC/Heat, and electricity on.  So in the future we can try to go out and get everything we need at one time instead of going back and forth, and try to limit how much we travel.
