Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Carbon Footprint
My name is Keilynn. I'm a fourteen-year-old from the town of Mooresville, North Carolina in the United States. Compared to my area's average, my family's footprint was almost half of it at a total of 9,022 kilograms. The amount that we got from our home use was a bit off-putting since it was the most. However, I wasn't surprised by the results of our purchases and transportation because we never usually go anywhere or buy anything unless we need to. Before, I didn't realize that everything I was doing at home was having such an effect on how my carbon footprint turned out, but now I do. From now on, I'm going to do my best to decrease the severity of my footprint by making sure I shut off all electronics and appliances when I don't need them.
