Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Carbon Footprint

colinsavage_

My name is Colin, I live in Mooresville, North Carolina in the United States, I am 15 years old. My carbon footprint was lower than average by a couple of thousand, with the average being 15,918 and mine being 9,242, Out of all of them, my food was pretty high, At lunch at school I drive to Bojangles every day of the week so I think thats why its pretty high. I was pretty happy with myself because I was well below average and I expected to be below average. The amount of points I got for food really surprised me. I learned how much some things can actually effect things in a major way. Future, I think i'm gonna start riding bikes to close places instead of doing unnecessary driving and eat better and eat more organic foods.
