Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Hello from Požega (Croatia)

hanamusil

Hi there!
My name is Hana, and I come from a small town in Croatia, Požega. I'm 16 years old, but in February I will turn 17. My total carbon footprint is 4291 kgs of CO2 per year, which is a bit less than the average in my country (5736 kgs). The only category in which I have scored more than my region is Food. I could have predicted that because even though my family prefers home cooked food, they are mostly meat-based, which is kinda usual for the Eastern parts of Europe big_smile. However, I do try my best to recycle, avoid plastic packaging and walk instead of going somewhere with my car. Despite that fact, I will try to reduce my carboon footprint, as much as I can. This project will certainly help me, as well as other students from my Gymnasium, to realise how much we can actually do for our planet . Feel free to leave a reply and give me some advice on how to reduce my carbon footprint smile
