Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Problems of our Earth
The population of the earth is 6 billion. Everybody needs air, water, food, clothes and home. To get all these things people often affect the environment. If there are environmental disasters many more people will die. The most dangerous ecological problems are deforestation , climate change , air pollution , freshwater pollution and holes in the ozone layer. We pollute the air when we do things which produce poisonous gases. We need to stop cutting down trees. Loss of forests leads to global warming , poverty and loss of beauty. The climate is getting warmer and warmer. This is because carbon dioxide stays in the air. We waste too much water and we pollute our rivers with deadly chemicals from factories. We use too much energy and too many resources in our day-to-day lives: we use too many electrical machines and far too much plastic. Plastic is really bad because it is made from oil and is difficult to get rid of. Plastic rubbish can also harm animals. Eco-helpers help the environment all over the world. The most famous eco-organization is called «Green Peace». I think students can do something to keep the environment cleaner. We can start a nature club. We can share rides of school so that we will save fuel. If we pick up rubbish it will keep our area cleaner. I’m sure if we help the planet our life will be much healthier.
