Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Hello!
Hi everyone! My name is Monika and I'm a 17 years old Gymnasium student from a small town called Požega in Croatia. My total footprint is 5582 kgs of CO2 per year which is less then an average footprint for Croatia but I still believe it's too high. I got the biggest number in Food category, 3500 kgs...ridiculous! It's because of the fact that I eat meat but unfortunately, I do not have enough persistence to leave this habit. I do my best to reduce my carbon footprint in every way possible. I walk instead of driving, i recycle, eat home grown food and stuff like that. I heard about this challenge in school and honestly it intigued me. I believe young people should be taught about our planet and how to save it more then they are which is why I'm here. So,if you have any advice on how I could reduce my carbon footprint even more, leave a comment and let me know so I can share it with my friends. ![]()
Hello Monika! It is very nice that you worry for your carbon footprint and try to reduce it. To my also this project has seemed to me to be very interesting. If your major problem is in the meat you might try to eat a bit less meat or you can choose the ecological meat.
I wait to have helped yourself.
Hey,there! Thank you for the reply, I really appreciate it. I like that idea about ecological meat but you see,the thing is, I'm a bit of a picky eater so it may be a problem but I'm definitely optimistic about it and I'm willing to try it out.
I read your opinion about pollution in Spain and the fact that no one seems to care about it and I can say that in Croatia, situation is completely the same! People who should be our examples, our politicians and leaders don't care about it at all. They are more interested in money and expensive travels than our health and beautiful countries. But that's why we're here, we can fix everything if we work hard and if we work together!
