Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Are You Sure You Need A Phone?

lwanlass

Having the latest technology is not a need but a want. You come up with ways to make it a need but it is a want because you can survive without the latest technology because, well, the cavemen did it. I usually get a new phone every 5 years unless it breaks really quickly or becomes too outdated. Most of the time I did need the new model because most of the time my old phone doesn’t work with my parents phones because it’s such an older model than theirs. I don’t usually consider the environmental impact of these purchases because which I usually never do in any other purchase either. If I was addicted I could break the addiction by using my phone less or make my parents take it away for a short amount of time so I could get used to not having it around me all the time, good thing I’m not addicted. Once again the latest technology is a want and not a need for the human population.

Thank You Readers,
