Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Carbon Footprint in the United States
My Carbon Footprint turned out to be 9,270 CO2/year, compared to the US average of 10,370 CO2/year. My footprint is still slightly above the US average. My family is big on recycling and we don't travel much. The only category that seemed to be higher was in food. We got a total of 2,639 compared to the average of 2,369. Any suggestions on how to reduce this?
In general, as you can discover by playing with the calculator, meat and dairy have a much higher footprint than vegetables and fruits on a per calorie basis. Would you be willing to reduce your consumption of meat or dairy? Others on this forum have discussed starting with one day a week of vegetarian meals. What do you think?
