Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

carbon footprint from the united states

leiaeverett

my carbon footprint, at 4,784kg, is much lower than my state's average. A lot of it has to do with the fact I walk to and from school everyday, myself and my family are recycling nuts and I didn't fly on a plane in the past year. My family turns off the lights and the faucets when we aren't using them and we compost and don't use plastic bottles. There are areas that can be improved, like transportation. My family does tend to do a lot of traveling by car and airplane, we just happened to not take a plane last year.
