Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

I was happy with how low my footprint was, because my family takes a lot of care to be environmentally friendly whenever possible. I saw that being vegetarian had a huge positive impact on my carbon footprint, and I think I could benefit from using public transportation more.

That's cool how your family is environmental friendly. i think that being vegetarian is a good step for your health. My friends were talking about being vegetarian and they are struggling a little because its hard not to eat meat but i i am also trying to go vegetarian myself

Being environmentally friendly is a good way to have a very low footprint. Also public transportation is nice, but maybe try walking or biking to closer places near you.
