Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Carbon Footprint in the US
Hello, carbon footprint is 27,940 kg of CO2 per year. Any ideas on how to reduce this? Please let me know. Thank you!
hello
Luke - what parts of your footprint were particularly high?
Electricity usage and transportation
electricity usage may not be so much "your fault" depending on where you live. For example, in my state of Washington, most of the power is hydroelectric which has a very low footprint. In Pennsylvania, for example, a lot of the electricity is still from coal. So if I were to move to Pennsylvania and behave exactly the same way, my footprint would be higher!
There are things you can do to reduce electricity footprint, including hanging clothes out to dry when it's nice out, and turning off all lights whenever you leave a room. If you use electrical heating and AC, that could be a lot of your footprint, that you can reduce by using blankets/warm clothes in the winter and fans instead of AC in the summer.
For transport, it depends - do you fly a lot? That can be a big part of your footprint.
Hey brother cool name. You could always carpool with some buddies to school or you could cut back on flights per year because Thats a big factor.
