Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Carbon footprint - Iceland

NotronGame

My carbon footprint was much lower than the average footprint in Iceland. My footprint was 4457 kgs per year compared to an average of 7884 kgs in Iceland. This is probably because I use only LED light bulbs in the house and I don't travel a lot with airplanes and in general don't travel much, and I go to school with a bus. But my food footprint is a bit high because when buying something from stores I don't really think about what I buy, if it is bad for the environment, but I should do that to reduce my footprint.
