Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Carbon Footprint

tengj20

Hello I'm Jonathan Teng from Bishop O'dowd. My carbon footprint appeared to be greater than average, which surprised me. As I was calculating my carbon footprint, I was sure it was below average after seeing my transportation usage sink below average. However, my carbon footprint resulted with  11,014 of CO2 per year, compared to an average of 9,727. I think a major factor in why my numbers are above average is because I am a wasteful person with food. I can improve my carbon footprint by composting food and recycling more.
