Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Wants or Needs
Many kinds of tech are usually wants rather than a need. However, some people think about the economic problems over the environmental problems caused when purchasing new technology. People also try to stay updated and keep up with the latest tech products. According to ycharts, Apple's market cap has risen from 600 bil to 750 bil ever since the release of the iPhone 7 in September 2016. This increases the need for factories which will emit more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
I agree, but this can also be applied to many materialistic object. As soon as a new version of something comes out, people will naturally want to buy that item because it appeals to them. However, these actions need to stop. This behavior is taught to people when they are kids. When a new toy comes out, the child will want to get the new toy, and no longer focus on their old toy. 29 million tons of plastic from packaging of new items are thrown out every year, and this plastic is non-biodegradable.
