Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

The House
I understand that when you have a lot of people in your family you tend to use a lot of electricity. I live in a family of five and my carbon footprint came out to be 67,993 kgs and the region average is only 3757 kgs. We use the heater a lot and we take pretty long showers. So I think to help lower my carbon footprint it would be better to use blankets as a way to stay warm instead of the heater and also take shorter showers.
I agree. I think one of the best ways to decrease a carbon footprint is to conserve as much heat as possible. I wonder if it takes more energy to heat up water or air?
water because it has a higher heat capacity! ![]()
I agree, but I think to decrease your heat problem is to let your house bring heat in and not using the heater as much
I agree with Aidan. I think in order to stay warm you can always just wrap in layers. It isnt as convenient as a heater but it will definitely so if you were looking for a way to stay warm you can always try that.
