Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Carbon footprint
Hello, I'm Laura, from Spain and my carbon footprint are lower than the average of Spain. My carbon footprint is lower because I go to all places walking, except if I go to the shopping centre or another city. I've never flown anywhere, so this is important too. So,is lower for that reason. In my home, I recycle and I don't spend a lot of water and light. Finally, I suggest to all people not to contaminate the earth and recycle as much as possible.
I think that is really awesome how you walk to the majority of the places you visit. The fact that you do this along with you have never flown before helps a lot with not polluting the environment.
Good Job Laura! Keep up the good work. You are doing great.
That's awesome that your emissions were lower than Spain's average. My footprint was smaller than the total in my region as well. Recycling is something I am very heavy on and support fully.
It's really cool that you can walk everywhere; that's a great way to save energy and reduce carbon footprints. I also think it's great that you recycle. I recycle aluminum, paper, plastic, and glass in my house also. I've never flown anywhere either, so my transportation numbers are much lower than most others I have seen for my classmates and other people in my school. I agree, it's definitely important not to contaminate the earth. You're doing a good job keeping your carbon footprint small!
I rarely leave the house, but when I do I often walk. So we're similar in our methods of transportation.
Great job, Laura! It is amazing that you can walk everywhere! Out of curiosity do you ever track how far you walk? It would be interesting to see how many kilometers/miles you walk per day compared to someone in the US! I wish I could walk everywhere like you do. Keep up the great work!
Hi Laura! Our carbon footprints are similar in that we both are below the average. The only difference is that the majority of mine is from transportation because I drive everywhere, while your least amount is from transportation because you usually walk!
