Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Name is Jake and I’m from Mooresville, North Carolina. I am 15 years old. For my carbon footprint my total was 14,607 which is above average. The majority of my footprint comes from home uses. I was expecting my carbon footprint to be a more than average but I wasn’t expecting that my home use was as high as it was. Some ways to cut it down is by turing off lights, cut the use of extra energy sources, and don’t burn a lot of gases.
