Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Vincent

My name is Vincent and I'm from Mooresville, North Carolina. I am located in the United States on the East coast. For my carbon footprint my total score was 15,891 which was right next to the average. I figured I would be close the average in my region but I didn't know I would be right on it. The area where I had a higher score was food. I was very surprised by this because I didn't think it would be near as high as it was. In order to reduce my carbon footprint and my food score, I am going to buy locally grown food and switch to organic things that are better for me.

I agree because both of our scores are higher than average. We just need to do our best on regulating our use of resources.
