Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Carbon Footprint
My name is Haley, I am 15, and I live in Mooresville, North Carolina, USA. My carbon footprint was surprisingly below what I thought it would be. My total was 12,743 CO2 a year compared to the North Carolina average that is 15,918 CO2 a year. Seeing the average for my state versus the average world wide shocked me. I did not expect such a big gap between them. The majority of my carbon outputs comes from transportation, since driving a car is about the only way I can go places. Now that I'm aware of the amount of carbon I'm releasing into the atmosphere, I will always keep it in my thoughts and actions to work hard to try and reduce it. I will always unplug things when they are fully charged and try to use more gasoline efficient vehicles.
