Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Cameron

My name is Cameron and I'm from Mooresville, North Carolina. I live on the East coast in  the United States. For my carbon footprint my total score was 15,929 which was almost the exact same as the average which is 15,918. I figured I would be close the average in my region but I didn't know I would be right on it. The area where I had a higher score was transportation and food. I was very surprised by this because I didn't think it would be as high in the transportation area. In order to lower my footprint and transportation, I am going to carpool and join rides with people. Also, I could ride a bike some places or walk if its close.
