Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My carbon footprint

peyton18

My name is Peyton Hayes, I am 15 years old and a freshman, I live in Mooresville North Carolina, United States of America. My total footprint was 45,238, which above a lot. Most of my total came from transportation.  I expected that because I travel all the time for sports and vacations. I learned that where you live and what your community is like has a very big impact on your results. I could decrease my total if I traveled less and stayed around home.
