Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Carbon Footprint
Mooresville, NC, USA, 16 years old
My Carbon Footprint total was 15,034, which compared to my region was a less less than average (15,918). The majority of my Footprint came from travel (7,958) which was above average for my region. My results were not what I expected. I though that since my family is pretty conscious about what we do, my total would be much less than it was. What surprised me about this was my transportation. Even though I don't go many places, I still have a high average for it. From this I learned that I need to be even more conscious of what I'm doing to the environment.
I agree we do need to be more conscious about what we are doing and how it affects our environment, because if we don't there will be no clean/semi-clean Earth for future generations.
