Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

I was surprised by the amount of m carbons footprint was effected by food. Food was one of my number one things that made my footprint higher. I did not really think about it before because food was healthy and usually when you think of how food is good for you you kind of expect it to be good for the environment especially because it is considered "natural".

The same for me! I am a big meat eater and it seems that the higher the protein intake the higher your carbon footprint. I could cut down on the meat That I eat by substituting it for more vegetables, but I couldn't drop proteins all together.
