Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Carbon footprint
my carbon footprint was 11, 177 and I learned that I went over the average when I took many flights last year
When I was first about to take fill out the form I considered myself quite conservative when it came to the environment but I realized that I was well above the average. I had a carbon footprint of 13,769 but most of it like you came from my flights from last year.
My carbon footprint was 3,000 less than yours and I think that has a lot to do with that I only took one vacation this year to New York city and we drove all the way there and didn't fly. Driving instead of flying can help decrease your carbon footprint so next time even though I would rather fly to NYC I will instead make a fun road trip out of it.
My carbon footprint was 6,453 CO2 per year. Why is it lower than the regional average of 9,727 you ask? Well it is because my main method of transportation is by bike. People just don’t realize how big of an impact their cars make on the environment. On average a person’s car emits about 6 tons of carbon dioxide every year. But since a person’s carbon footprint is as unique as their fingerprint, some cars can emit much more carbon.
